Susquehanna University  – Full Time Aquatic Coordinator / Assistant Swim Coach (9/4/18)

This is a benefits eligible, year-round position that is part administration of aquatic programs, operation of the natatorium, and coaching swimming.  The Aquatic Coordinator will be responsible for the overall operations of the natatorium and programming of it; to include planning, development, administration, growth, evaluation and supervision of all Aquatic programs along with the on-going operation and maintenance of pool. Will lead the preparation and manage the programs, operation and maintenance of pool.  The Assistant Coach is primarily responsible for assisting the Head Swim Coach in all aspects of the Susquehanna Swimming & Diving program including: planning practices, incorporating new training strategies, executing home and away meet responsibilities and recruiting.

Education – Bachelor’s degree required. Certified lifeguard required. Certified PA cat. 24 (pool operators) license required within 3 months after hire.

Experience – 1-2 years related experience required. Coaching or playing experience in swimming is desired. Evidence of a positive attitude and the ability to get along well with others required. Management experience in area of aquatics and experience teaching swim lessons preferred.  Must have a valid driver’s license.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Development and execution of programs in Aquatics; such as, but not limited to: swim lessons, water aerobics, and lifeguarding classes.
  • Recruit, train, schedule, supervise, and evaluate staff necessary to achieve success programmatically and operationally.
  • Oversee daily operation and implementation of all aquatic programs by staff to members to assure quality service and programming.
  • Regulate the daily, weekly, monthly and yearly maintenance and operation of pool.
  • Maintain pool logs, pool updates and incident reports.
  • Manage staff certifications and create development plans for ensuring availability of staff.
  • Create and manage aquatic program plans including marketing, budget and staff requirements.
  • Manage lifeguard schedule. Must be able to fill in for uncovered shifts as needed.
  • Ensure safety and prevent injuries by supervising aquatics area and implementing best practices.
  • Ensure program quality and monitor staff performance and member service.
  • Developing and conducting organized practices.
  • Assist the Head Coach with meet day responsibilities.
  • Counsel student-athletes in a positive and encouraging manner.
  • Serve as a role model to student-athletes daily.
  • Recruit high school student-athletes by emailing, calling and messaging; plan day and overnight visits for recruits and parents.
  • Adhere to all NCAA, Landmark Conference and University rules and regulations.
  • Develop positive rapport with athletics staff and the entire Susquehanna community.
  • Represent the university in a professional manner when communicating with recruits and constituents.
  • Perform other duties assigned by the Head Coach (such as mailings, updating databases, writing practices, etc.).
  • Home meet responsibility to set up and prepare timing system and coordinate entries and results.
  • Daily contact with students, staff and faculty. Occasional contact with coaches from other colleges and with university administrative staff.
  • Filming with the Go Pro camera and video editing.

Ambler YMCA  – Full Time Head Coach (8/31/18)

Ambler YMCA is seeking a qualified candidate to take on the role Head Coach. Under the direction of the Aquatic Director, the Head Swim Coach manages the swim team in accordance with the rules and regulations set forth by the YMCA of the USA as well as the rules from their respective swimming league. The Head coach is responsible for preparing practice workouts plans and swim meet line-ups. Head Coaches are to ensure a positive, healthy and valuable experience for all participants.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • – Lead swimmers through skill mastery and swim practices.
  • – Recruit, train, and supervise the competitive swim staff and conduct monthly staff meetings.
  • -Evaluate swimmers skills; provide skills needed to master strokes.
  • – Regularly check equipment for necessary repair or replacement.
  • – Ensure fair practice and swim meet experience.
  • – Conduct practices with energy and enthusiasm.
  • – Provide support and encouragement to participants.
  • – Be on deck before swimmers enter water.
  • – Swimmers are not to be left unsupervised during practice or at any swim meet.
  • – Coach must supervise the entire swim meet, including warm-ups, practice dives, events, etc., ensuring the safety of the swimmers.
  • – The coach is responsible for setting up home meets and work with the parents committee in securing volunteers to run the swim meets.
  • – Provide excellent service to members and participants. Communicate all YMCA rules and ensure that you are accessible and identifiable.
  • – Lead by example at all times. Interact with a high level of professionalism.

Radnor Aquatic Club  – Full Time Head of USA Swimming/Assistant Head Coach (8/23/18)

Radnor Aquatic Club is seeking a qualified candidate to take on the role of USA Swimming Head Coach/Assistant Head Coach.  The Radnor Aquatic Club is a year round club of over 200 swimmers located in Radnor, Pennsylvania.  The club is a member of the Suburban Aquatic League and carries a dual meet schedule associated with the league.  The club also regularly attends USA meets, approximately 1-2 per month.  Our current focus is to expand our USA swimming presence while maintaining our SAL roots.

This a full time position scheduled to start in the fall of 2018.

The successful candidate will have the following characteristics:

Westtown Aquatic Program – Part Time Assistant Coach (8/21/18)

The Westtown Aquatics (WAP) is looking for part-time coaches starting Sept. 2017. Westtown Aquatics is located on the grounds of Westtown School. The Parkland Aquatic Club (PAAC) is seeking an experienced, motivated part-time Senior level coach.  The qualified candidate will handle daily coaching for our Senior Group (high school age) swimmers. Greater Philadelphia Aquatic Club – Co-Head Age Group Coach (8/21/18)

The Greater Philadelphia Aquatic Club is searching for a Co-Head Age Group Coach. This will be a part-time, salaried, 12 month position.

The ideal candidate will have: At least three years of age group coaching experience with a USA Swimming Club.  Possess (or able to obtain) full USA Swimming coaching certification (First Aid, CPR, Safety Training for Swim Coaches, USA Swimming background check clearance, USA Swimming coaching education requirements, USA Swimming Athlete Protection Training).  Knowledge of the Team Unify platform.

Job Duties:

  1. Assist in the coaching of other age group practices 2-3 times per week
  2. Coach our Gold 2 group, with approximately 50 swimmers ages 11-14
  3. Oversee season plan development for in-water training of our age group program
  4. Assist and mentor age group coaching staff
  5. Submit monthly reports
  6. Attend monthly staff meetings
  7. Conduct quarterly reviews of age group coaching staff

Northampton Swim Booster Club – KIDS swimming-Part Time Head Coach/Program Director (8/10/18)

Northampton Swim Booster Club (KIDS Swimming) is a year round USA swimming program located in Northampton, PA, and swims at the Northampton Area Middle School.  The program consists of approximately 40 swimmers from ages 5-18, and is a feeder program for the High School Team. NSBC/KIDS Swimming is seeking a mature and professional swim coach with good communication skills, excellent organizational skills, and ability to work with kids of all levels.  The applicant would be responsible for coaching during practice as well as meets, supervising assistant/junior coaches, as well as all aspects of running the program with the board of elected volunteers.  We are also adding a diving program this fall, so any diving exposure is a plus.

Upper Main Line YMCA-Part Time Assistant Coach (8/10/18)

The Upper Main Line YMCA (UMLY) swim team is seeking an experienced part-time lead coach for our 9-12 year-old age groups. The candidate will play an integral role in our team, which is nationally ranked in YMCA swimming and a USA Swimming Bronze Level team. The successful candidate will oversee the training and development of our age groups 2 and 3. This person will be responsible for some administrative duties in addition to leading 2-3 part-time assistant coaches. Hours will vary.

Jersey Storm Swimming (STRM), an approximately 80 member age-group competitive swimming program, located in Fort Dix, NJ. The club is seeking an enthusiastic, experienced, and dedicated assistant swim coach to join the staff for the 2018-2019 season and beyond.

Penn Charter Aquatic Club-Part Time Assistant Coach (7/24/18)

The Penn Charter Aquatic Club (PCAC), an approximately 100 member age-group competitive swimming program, located in East Falls, PA, is seeking an enthusiastic, experienced, and dedicated assistant swim coach for all of its team programing.

Upper Dublin Aquatic Club (UDAC) seeks part-time Age Group Coaches (7/12/18)

UDAC, a 300+ member age-group competitive swimming and diving program, USA Swimming Silver Medal Club, located in Fort Washington, PA, is seeking enthusiastic and dedicated part-time age group coaches.  UDAC competes in regional USA Swimming meets, Middle Atlantic swim meets, as well as in the Suburban Aquatic League (SAL), in Southeastern PA.

The interested applicant should have prior swim coach experience, willingness to coach under the philosophy and culture of UDAC and the UDAC Head Coach, strong motivational and communication skills, and the desire to implement new coaching techniques acquired via coaching education.

Hatboro-Horsham Aquatic Association (HHAA) is seeking a Head Swim Team Coach and Assistant Coach – Part Time Coach (6/24/18)

HHAA is seeking energetic, experienced, passionate, professional candidates for the positions of Head Swim Team Coach and Assistant Swim Team Coach to begin in September 2017. HHAA is a competitive swim and dive club, located in Horsham, PA, with athletes at all levels of experience, varying from beginners and pre-team to competitors at Junior Olympics and Senior Champs. HHAA competes in the Suburban Aquatic League (SAL) and Mid-Atlantic USA Swimming.  The SAL season runs from September through February including Monday through Friday practices, 5 dual meets in November and December, 2 dual meet finals in January and 2 championship meets in January/February.  Local travel is required for away meets.

Hershey Aquatic Club Developmental Age Group Coach – Full Time Coach (6/17/18)

The Hershey Aquatic Club (HAC) is a highly respected and competitive 130+ member, USA Swimming Level 2 competitive swim program, located in Hershey, Pennsylvania. HAC primarily competes in USA Swimming in Middle Atlantic swim meets in addition to local league meets in Central Pennsylvania. HAC also participates in USA Swimming meets at the Olympic Trials, Nationals, Junior Nationals, Sectionals, Zones and Junior Olympics levels. We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Developmental Age Group Coach to head up our developmental age group swimmers. This entails working with swimmers ages 6-12 years with a wide range of abilities. The Developmental Age Group Coach will oversee training activities of assigned groups and oversee one to two assistant coaches. The Coach will conduct age appropriate workouts focusing on mainly on stroke development, technique, endurance, and appropriate age level drills. This position is expected to start September 2018. The interested Applicant must have at least five (5) years of prior swim coaching experience, preferably with swimmers new to the sport, and advanced 9-10 year old swimmers. They must have a willingness to coach under the philosophy of the HAC head coach, strong motivational and communication skills, and the desire to implement new coaching techniques acquired via coaching education. The Applicant will be supervising primarily elementary school age swimmers, and must be available in the Summer (beginning in June) Monday through Friday 10:00a.m.-12:00p.m. Additionally, the Applicant must be available in Spring, Fall and Winter between the hours of 4:45 p.m.-8:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Other duties include attending swim meets on average twice per month during the winter season and weekly dual meets during the summer season and, organizing and administering a non-competitive, developmental swim program twice in the spring and once during the summer. The Applicant must be certified, or be willing to obtain certifications, in CPR, First Aid (Safety Training for Swim Coaches), and be a USA/ASCA Coaching Member. Salary would commensurate with prior coaching experience. Eligible for retirement benefits after two years. Continued education provided.

Nittany Lion Aquatic Club Head Coach & State High Swimming Coach – Head Coach – Full Time Coach (6/13/18)

Nittany Lion Aquatic Club is a year round USA swimming program located in State College, PA, with approximately 85 to 100 age group swimmers ranging from novice to college age, a staff of 4-6 coaches, and an oversight board of elected volunteers.  NLAC is independent from, but principally uses, the State College Area School District (SCASD) pool for training and the indoor and outdoor pools on the Penn State campus for meets.  The Club traditionally hosts three short-course meets and two long-course meets annually.  In addition, NLAC has hosted Middle Atlantic Long Course Junior Olympics, the Eastern Zone Meet, and the Super Sectional Meet.  NLAC and SCASD are jointly seeking an enthusiastic head coach with effective communication skills to train and motivate swimmers at all levels, as well as to manage the day-to-day operations of the Club.  See www.NLACswim.org for more information.

Life Time Athletic Swim Team – King of Prussia- Coach Position Full Time Coach (5/14/18)

 

Metro Area Life Time (LIFE) Swim Team is seeking a passionate leader to grow within the Life Time organization. LIFE is part of Life Time Athletic providing our members with a year round competitive swim team. Our team consists of 600+ swimmers across our six locations: Life Time Berkeley Heights NJ, Life Time Florham Park NJ, Life Time Ft Washington PA, Life Time King of Prussia PA, Life Time Montvale NJ & Life Time Mt Laurel NJ.

The LIFE Swim teams main focus is stroke & technique development, utilizing drills with constant oversight & correction to ensure our swimmers have the proper skills for training & competition. Each location separates swimmers by ability level, allowing the coaches to focus on smaller training groups to maximize the swimmers success. The Head Coach administers all USA competitive training groups: Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum & Senior, while providing direct oversight of the Jade & Sapphire developmental groups & coaches.

Daily Head Coach Tasks: Writing & leading swim team group workouts according to a seasonal plan * Developing & growing swim team Coaches on your team *Registering new participants for the team and administrative duties as needed.

Central Bucks Swim Team (CBST) – Assistant Coach – Part Time Coach (4/18/18)

Central Bucks Swim Team, a Level 2 USA Swimming program, is looking for part-time coaches. Coaches are needed for the Senior and Age Group programs. Number of hours can be flexible, it could be anywhere from 6 to 16 hours per week of on-deck coaching, and the position could include coaching at meets on selected weekends. We are looking for enthusiastic individuals willing to fit into the CBST system while bringing their own ideas into the program. Hourly rate will be commensurate with experience. Delaware Swim Team (DST) – Assistant Junior National Coach – Part Time Coach (4/15/18)

Delaware Swim Team (DST) is seeking an experienced coach to work primarily with our Junior National Group (9-14).  The Junior National Group is designed to offer swimmers ages 9 to 14 the highest level of instruction and training available to age group athletes. This group will emphasize a balanced approach to developing the Age Group swimmer for advancement towards DST’s National Group and competition at highest levels of the sport.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Conduct workouts 5-7 days per week.
  • Assist Head Coach with administrative tasks relating to the team including swim meet arrangements and team performance as well as communications with parents.
  • Work closely with the DST staff and other coaches on issues that concern the club as a whole.
  • Participate in weekend swim meets as required.

Certifications:

  • Safety Certifications: Current CPR Certification, First Aid (or Lifeguard) Certification, and Safety Training for swim coaches (available at www.usaswimming.org).
  • USA Swimming requirements: Athlete protection training, Background Check through the USA Swimming background check provider, and Foundations of Coaching.
  • If not already CPR Certified/ Registered USA swim coach, candidate can complete certifications upon hiring

Delaware Swim Team (DST) is seeking an experienced coach to work primarily with our 8&U age group.  DST is focused on motivating, teaching, training and young athletes to achieve their potential in competitive swimming in the belief that this experience will provide “life skills” that will prove to be invaluable assets throughout their swimming career and adult life. We are looking for an individual who works well with others, is passionate about swimming and has strong communication and people skills. This individual will be dedicated to laying foundations necessary for athletes to be successful throughout their entire career.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Conduct workouts 5-6 days per week.
  • Assist Head Age Group Coach with administrative tasks relating to the team including swim meet arrangements and team performance as well as communications with parents.
