Shippensburg Aquatic Club (SAC) – part-time Assistant Coach -posted  8/22/17

 

Interested applicant would be supervising age group swimmers and must be available in the fall/winter between the hours of 5:00 p.m. -8:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday, and/or in the summer between the hours of 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. Weekend availability (average of 1-2 monthly) to coach meets. Some weekend travel to swim meets may be required. The applicants must be certified, or be willing to obtain certifications, in CPR, First Aid (Safety Training for Swim Coaches), and willingness to become USA Coaching Certified member within 90 days of hire.

Kennett Area YMCA (KAY) part-time Assistant Coach -posted  8/21/17

Join the Sea Dragon Team at the Kennett Area YMCA! Our Fall Competitive Swim Team is looking to hire an Assistant Swim Team Coach. Candidates must have prior coaching experience with children ages 5-18 yrs. Blue Eagle Swimming (BLUE) part-time Assistant Coach -posted  8/21/17

Blue Eagle Swimming (BLUE) is seeking qualified applicants for Assistant Coach who would primarily work with our highest level athletes. BLUE is looking for applicants with a technique-first teaching mindset, enthusiasm, and the ability to get the job done with a great attitude.  Employee reports directly to BLUE’s Director of USA Team Operations.

TEAM DESCRIPTION: BLUE is a USA-S Level 1 Recognition swim team with 155+ members. BLUE swimmers range from novice to elite level. BLUE operates primarily out of the Nazareth Middle School Natatorium during short course months and in outdoor pools during the summer months.

COACHING DUTIES INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
1. Responsible for assisting BLUE’s Navy and Cadet groups.
2. Work with USA Director to implement seasonal training plans.
3. Attend swim meets and/or practices as assigned by the USA Director.
4. Establish and maintain communications with both athletes and parents in a positive and professional manner.
5. Encourage a positive team environment that inspires excellence by leading by example.
6. Support the goals, mission, and philosophy of BLUE.
7. Help direct and create programming aimed at helping BLUE fulfill its mission and its athletes meet their goals.

QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
1. Coaching membership in good standing with USA swimming, current or willing to become current on all safety requirements (CPR, First Aid and Safety Training for Swim Coaches) and pass all applicable background checks prior to starting employment.
2. ASCA Level 2 certification preferred but not required.
3. Must successfully complete a background check.
4. Respectful and patient communication style with swimmers, parents, and staff.

Upper Dublin Aquatic Club (UDAC) part-time Age Group Coaches -posted  8/10/17

The UDAC, a 300+ member age-group competitive swimming and diving program, USA Swimming Silver Medal Club, located in Fort Washington, PA, is seeking enthusiastic and dedicated part-time age group coaches.  UDAC competes in regional USA Swimming meets, Middle Atlantic swim meets, as well as in the Suburban Aquatic League (SAL), in Southeastern PA.

The interested applicant should have prior swim coach experience, willingness to coach under the philosophy and culture of UDAC and the UDAC Head Coach, strong motivational and communication skills, and the desire to implement new coaching techniques acquired via coaching education.

Penn Charter Aquatic Club (PCAC)– Part-time Assistant Coach -posted  8/2/17

The Penn Charter Aquatic Club (PCAC), an approximately 100 member age-group competitive swimming program, located in East Falls, PA, is seeking an enthusiastic, experienced, and dedicated assistant swim coach for all of its team programing.

Applicants should have prior swim coaching experience and the hourly rate of pay is commensurate with experience.

Tri-Hampton YMCA Swim Team (THY)– Full-time Head Coach -posted  8/2/17

 

GENERAL FUNCTION

Under the direction of the Competitive Swimming Director, oversees and directs the Tri-Hampton YMCA swim team program.  This includes maintaining a high level of communication with fellow coaches and swim team parents, creating a cohesive year-round swim program philosophy across all practice groups, preparing and running daily practices that focus on dryland, technique, and endurance (ensuring that assistant coaches adhere to written practice sets), completing swim meet entries (including focus on relays), seasonal scheduling, planning program, , supervision of assistant coaches at all levels, swimming pool facilities supervision and budget responsibilities.  The Lead Competitive Swimming Coach must be able to answer questions pertaining to all levels of the swim team and areas of the YMCA, assist with the operation of all home meets, as well as assist the Competitive Swimming Director in areas related to the swim team as needed.  The  LCSC will work with the Pre-Age and Senior Lead coaches to assist with team practices and administration.

KNOW-HOW

Previous competitive coaching experience/participation is required, as well as strong administrative, organizational, communication, and computer skills.  Knowledge of Hy-Tek swimming software and Team Unify is preferred.  Certifications in the following safety areas: CPR for the Professional Rescuer/AED, Lifeguard Training or Safety Training for the Swim Coaches, and First Aid.  Minimum ASCA level two certification recommended. Other certifications: YMCA Principles of Competitive Swimming and Diving and USA Swimming Foundations of Coaching.  Must successfully complete and pass a USA swimming background check and YMCA’s background check.

 

PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES

  • Organize and run practices for all Levels.
  • Attend bi-weekly coaches meetings.
  • Oversee the Senior and Pre-Age Group.
  • Report to the Competitive Swimming Director on matters relating to the Tri-Hampton Team (i.e. assistant coaches, practice schedules, team development, etc.)
  • Attend 95% of meet sessions for the Tri-Hampton YMCA swim team.  Coaches also must be in attendance of all travel meets.
  • Reply to phone messages and e-mails in a timely manner (48 hours).
  • Develop and assist with the distribution of the monthly newsletter updating team progress in practice.
  • Knowledge of Team Unify to send monthly news and

  • Make themselves available to parents after practices.
  • Continue personal education related to the sport of swimming.
  • Attend at least one professional coaching clinic per year.

Nittany Lion Aquatic Club- Full-time Head Coach – UPDATED 8/2/17

Club Description:     Nittany Lion Aquatic Club is a year round USA swimming program, with approximately 100 age group swimmers ranging from novice to college age, a staff of 4-6 coaches, and an oversight board of elected volunteers.  NLAC is independent from but principally uses the indoor and outdoor pools on the Penn State campus.  The Club hosts three short course meets and two long course meets annually.  In addition, NLAC has hosted Middle Atlantic Long Course Junior Olympics, the Eastern Zone Meet, and the Super Sectional Meet.  NLAC is seeking an enthusiastic head coach with effective communication skills to train and motivate swimmers at all levels, as well as to manage the day to day operations of the Club.  See Website for more information.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  1. USA Swimming coach certification. CPR, Coaches Safety, Athlete Protection, and Background Check.
  2. 3-5 years’ experience coaching competitive swimming.
  3. Proficient in Hy-Tek swimming software and Team Unify platform.

Responsibilities:

  1. Review, coordinate and supervise workouts and practices for all training groups. Personally coaching National, National Prep, and/or Senior training groups.
  1. Determine short and long course meet schedules with Board approval. Complete meet entry forms, travel with swimmers to meets or ensure the availability of other coaches at meets.
  1. Coordinate the staffing assignments of coaches ensuring all practice sessions and meets are adequately staffed in a manner consistent with budgetary constraints.
  1. Coordinate with the Manager of Aquatic Facilities at Penn State to ensure pool availability.
  1. Act as a liaison between NLAC and Middle Atlantic Swimming, attending pertinent Middle Atlantic meetings.
  1. Maintain NLAC’s Team Unify website, including disbursement of meet information and updating swimmers= times.
  1. Maintain membership registration.
  2. In conjunction with Treasurer, bill and maintain record of payment.
  3. Attend NLAC Board meetings and report on the status of the team, staff, goals and objectives as well as hold an annual meeting with parents.
  1. Maintain a presence in the community to actively promote NLAC and recruit new membership.
  2. Work with Board and parents to generate fund raising events.

Compensation:     Salary is commensurate with qualifications.  NLAC provides full reimbursement for approved swim meet expenses as well as an educational fund.   A contract will be offered.

Upper Merion Aquatic Club (UMAC) – Head & Assistant Swim Coach Positions – posted 6/16/17

We are looking for coaches that are self-motivated and energetic to continue to groom our young athletes into excellent swimmers.  UMAC is a part of the SAL (Suburban Aquatic League) and a member of USA Swimming.  The SAL season runs from September through February with 5 dual meets and 2 championship meets.  Our USA program is running almost year-round.  Some local travel required for meets.  SAL meets are Saturday, USA Meets are typically Saturday and Sunday.

Central Bucks Swim Team (CBST) – Part Time Assistant Coach – posted 5/15/17

Central Bucks Swim Team, a Level 2 USA Swimming program, is looking for part-time coaches. Coaches are needed for the Senior and Age Group programs. Malvern Swimming Association (MSA) – Part Time Assistant Coach – posted 5/10/17

The Malvern Swimming Association (MSA) is looking for a part-time assistant swimming coach to start as soon as possible and continue coaching through the fall/winter season. MSA is a USA Swimming Registered Swim Club and is a part of The Malvern Preparatory School which is located in Malvern, PA. Our team runs from September through July giving employees the opportunity to continue coaching almost year round.

Practices are held Monday – Friday evenings after 5:30 and Saturday mornings. Candidates should be available for most practices and some weekend meets.
