KIDS Swim Club* – Assistant Coach

KIDS Swim Club is seeking an Assistant Coach who will be working mainly with 10 & under athletes.  KIDS Swim Club is looking for an enthusiastic applicant who will foster in our KIDS the character traits, technical skills, and the intense desire necessary to strive for excellence, both in and out of the pool.

TEAM DESCRIPTION:  KIDS Swim Club is a young and energetic USA swim team looking to grow their program.  KIDS Swim Club provides competitive, year-round swimming to Northampton and surrounding areas.  KIDS Swim Club swims at the Northampton Area Middle School in the early evening, Monday through Friday and scheduled meets.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Prior competitive swimming and/or coaching experience necessary;
  2. Current USA Swimming Coach Certification in good standing, with a clean background check.
  3. Certification in CPR, First Aid & Coaches Safety Training.
  4. Must be respectful, patient, and encouraging with swimmers, parents, staff, and Board.

Responsibilities:

Oversees all levels of swimming of the Ply-Mar Swim Team Program, Coaches all team levels at least once per week (varsity, junior varsity, developmental), Supervises assistant coaches and ensures appropriate practice coverage by coaches, Develop practice workouts and actively engage in practices with swimmers; develop technical skills of swimmers, Provides feedback to swimmers after their races during meets, Attends all SSL meets (Relay Carnival, regular season meets, division championships and A Championships) , Communicates effectively with swim team parents and swim club board members/team liaisons (for example weekly newsletter, use of team email account), Recruits new swimmers from club membership, Maintain club’s Hy-Tek Team Manager database of swimmers, Attends SSL Coaches meeting (typically in early June), Write all meet line-ups, Participates in other team activities:  4th of July parade, team pictures and whirlpool, swim-a-thon, team games and developmental mini-meet, pasta dinner, season end team party, Fosters atmosphere that stresses team concept

 

Philadelphia Country Club – 2017 Pool Manager / Summer House Manager

Currently we are seeking a Pool Manager / Summer House Manager for the Spring/Summer of 2017.  The Pool Manager / Summer House Manager will oversee all operations within the Summer House including but not limited to the pool and Citrus Tree restaurant.  They will plan, direct, train, manage, schedule and supervise lifeguards and restaurant staff.  Responsibilities will include, but not limited to, recruiting, training, and supervising qualified staff, providing exceptional service and programs for the members of the Club, planning and managing the Club’s pool and events throughout the summer.  Help maintaining equipment, and ensuring chemical levels are safe.  The Summer House Manager will report directly to the Athletic Director and Club House Manager and is also responsible for HR duties, payroll, scheduling and budgeting for the Summer House.

Requirements – Two years (2) experience in managing a pool and restaurant or equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.  Possessing current Lifeguard certification is a plus.  Must possess CPR, ADP, and First Aid certification / training.  Must be familiar with Federal and State requirements and guidelines pertaining to pool management.

  • Current USA Coaching Credentials and CPR/Safety Certifications
  • Current ASCA Level 2 (or higher) certification
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively collaborate and communicate with other coaches, league representatives, swimmers, & parents.

Blue Eagle Swimming – Head Age Group Coach

Blue Eagle Swimming (BLUE)  is seeking qualified applicants for the Head Age Group Coach position. This position will primarily work with BLUE’s 12 & under athletes. BLUE is looking for applicants with a technique-first teaching mindset, enthusiasm, and the ability to get the job done with a great attitude.

POSITION:

Employee reports directly to the Team Director.  Salaried position with the addition of bonus-based clinic opportunities.

START DATE:

Start date could be January or April.

 

TEAM DESCRIPTION:

BLUE is a USA-S Level 1 Recognition swim team with 140+ members. BLUE swimmers range from novice to elite level. BLUE operates primarily out of the Nazareth Middle School Natatorium during short course months and in outdoor pools during the summer months.

COACHING DUTIES INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

  1. Responsible for leading BLUE’s age group training groups.
  2. Work with Team Director to design seasonal training plans for age group athletes.
  3. Attend swim meets and/or practices as assigned by the Team Director.
  4. Establish and maintain communications with both athletes and parents in a positive and professional manner.
  5. Encourage a positive team environment that inspires excellence by leading by example.
  6. Support the goals, mission, and philosophy of BLUE.
  7. Work with Team Director to establish vision for team while working within our unique technique-first training model.
  8. Help direct and create programming aimed at helping BLUE fulfill its mission.

QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

  1. Coaching membership in good standing with USA swimming, current or willing to become current on all safety requirements (CPR, First Aid and Safety Training for Swim Coaches) and pass all applicable background checks prior to starting employment.
  2. ASCA Level 2 certification preferred but not required.
  3. Must successfully complete a background check.
  4. Respectful and patient communication style with swimmers, parents, and staff.
  5. Competitive swimming/coaching experience.
  6. Competent stroke technique knowledge and willingness to learn team technique models and technique development systems.

Job Purpose

Responsible for assisting the head coach in the daily operations and overall administration of a varsity intercollegiate sport program and instruction of student- athletes, within the guidelines, rules and regulations of The University of Scranton, Landmark Conference and the NCAA.

Essential Duties

  • – Lead training and practice sessions, ensuring that all appropriate safety guidelines and standards are maintained
  • – Perform specific coaching and instructional responsibilities during athletic events
  • – Attend coach’s preparatory meetings and implement strategies resulting from these meetings
  • – Develop a comprehensive and functional knowledge of the sport and maintain a thorough and continuing familiarity with all applicable University, Landmark Conference and NCAA regulations
  • – Scout and recruit quality student-athletes under the guidance and direction of the head coach and coordinate all recruiting activities with the head coach and with appropriate departmental personnel
  • – Work closely with athletic training staff to insure safety of all student-athletes
  • – Represents the sports program to various institutional programs and externally to the media, alumni, students, parents, faculty, staff and the general public

Additional Skills Required

  • – Must possess current state driver’s license
  • – Maintain current certification in CPR, First Aid & AED and recertify as needed on an annual basis
  • – Must be capable of moderate physical activity and have the ability to work and display a cooperative attitude toward all other sports programs and other functions of the University and the Athletic Department
