Hershey Aquatic Club Developmental Age Group Coach – Full Time Coach (6/17/18)

The Hershey Aquatic Club (HAC) is a highly respected and competitive 130+ member, USA Swimming Level 2 competitive swim program, located in Hershey, Pennsylvania. HAC primarily competes in USA Swimming in Middle Atlantic swim meets in addition to local league meets in Central Pennsylvania. HAC also participates in USA Swimming meets at the Olympic Trials, Nationals, Junior Nationals, Sectionals, Zones and Junior Olympics levels. We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Developmental Age Group Coach to head up our developmental age group swimmers. This entails working with swimmers ages 6-12 years with a wide range of abilities. The Developmental Age Group Coach will oversee training activities of assigned groups and oversee one to two assistant coaches. The Coach will conduct age appropriate workouts focusing on mainly on stroke development, technique, endurance, and appropriate age level drills. This position is expected to start September 2018. The interested Applicant must have at least five (5) years of prior swim coaching experience, preferably with swimmers new to the sport, and advanced 9-10 year old swimmers. They must have a willingness to coach under the philosophy of the HAC head coach, strong motivational and communication skills, and the desire to implement new coaching techniques acquired via coaching education. The Applicant will be supervising primarily elementary school age swimmers, and must be available in the Summer (beginning in June) Monday through Friday 10:00a.m.-12:00p.m. Additionally, the Applicant must be available in Spring, Fall and Winter between the hours of 4:45 p.m.-8:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Other duties include attending swim meets on average twice per month during the winter season and weekly dual meets during the summer season and, organizing and administering a non-competitive, developmental swim program twice in the spring and once during the summer. The Applicant must be certified, or be willing to obtain certifications, in CPR, First Aid (Safety Training for Swim Coaches), and be a USA/ASCA Coaching Member. Salary would commensurate with prior coaching experience. Eligible for retirement benefits after two years. Continued education provided.

Nittany Lion Aquatic Club Head Coach & State High Swimming Coach – Head Coach – Full Time Coach (6/13/18)

Nittany Lion Aquatic Club is a year round USA swimming program located in State College, PA, with approximately 85 to 100 age group swimmers ranging from novice to college age, a staff of 4-6 coaches, and an oversight board of elected volunteers.  NLAC is independent from, but principally uses, the State College Area School District (SCASD) pool for training and the indoor and outdoor pools on the Penn State campus for meets.  The Club traditionally hosts three short-course meets and two long-course meets annually.  In addition, NLAC has hosted Middle Atlantic Long Course Junior Olympics, the Eastern Zone Meet, and the Super Sectional Meet.  NLAC and SCASD are jointly seeking an enthusiastic head coach with effective communication skills to train and motivate swimmers at all levels, as well as to manage the day-to-day operations of the Club.  See www.NLACswim.org for more information.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  1. USA Swimming coach certification. CPR, Coaches Safety, Athlete Protection, and Background Check.
  2. 3-5 years’ experience coaching competitive swimming.
  3. Proficient in Hy-Tek swimming software and Team Unify platform.

Compensation:     Salary is commensurate with qualifications.  NLAC provides full reimbursement for approved swim meet expenses as well as an educational fund.   A contract will be offered.

Phoenixville YMCA – Competitive Aquatics Director –  Full Time  (6/13/18)

The Phoenixville Branch of the Philadelphia Freedom Valley YMCA is seeking a Director of Competitive Aquatics and Head Swim Coach.  The program, which comprises over 200 swimmers, has steadily grown in numbers and stature over the last decade.  In March 2018, the team finished second at the PA YMCA State Championships and sent 16 individual qualifiers to YMCA Nationals. Equally impressive is the strong foundation of steady improvement across the age group ranks. Therefore, this position presents a tremendous opportunity for the right candidate to reap the rewards of assisting in the development of young athletes into great people, while attaining regional and national recognition as a leader in competitive aquatics.

Responsibilities of the position include management of the day-to-day operations of the Phoenixville YMCA Swim Team (PAY) ensuring that this year round program complies with YMCA policies and procedures and recommended YMCA Competitive Swimming Guidelines for program quality and safety.  Set overall direction and curriculum for practices and meets while providing direct service to ensure program quality and safety standards.  Develops, implements, and manages operating plans to promote program growth in the YMCA, USA and summer competitive leagues while maintaining and increasing a national level presence. Measures progress against goals, and ensures continuous improvement.  Works with Aquatics Leadership to ensure we are meeting the overall aquatic needs of the Y community.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in a related field and minimum 3 years’ or comparable experience as a Head Coach.
  2. Experience in team management software (meet Manager, Hy-Tek Team Manager, Team Unify), timing system operation and budgeting.
  3. Exhibit strong leadership skills; possess a passion for member service that includes excellent communication skills with all age groups; build and maintain a culture of supportive relationships; set and achieve goals while providing an enjoyable environment.
  4. Current coaching certifications.

Life Time Athletic Swim Team – King of Prussia- Coach Position Full Time Coach (5/14/18)

 

Metro Area Life Time (LIFE) Swim Team is seeking a passionate leader to grow within the Life Time organization. LIFE is part of Life Time Athletic providing our members with a year round competitive swim team. Our team consists of 600+ swimmers across our six locations: Life Time Berkeley Heights NJ, Life Time Florham Park NJ, Life Time Ft Washington PA, Life Time King of Prussia PA, Life Time Montvale NJ & Life Time Mt Laurel NJ.

The LIFE Swim teams main focus is stroke & technique development, utilizing drills with constant oversight & correction to ensure our swimmers have the proper skills for training & competition. Each location separates swimmers by ability level, allowing the coaches to focus on smaller training groups to maximize the swimmers success. Central Bucks swim Team (CBST) – Assistant Coach – Part Time Coach (4/18/18)

Central Bucks Swim Team, a Level 2 USA Swimming program, is looking for part-time coaches. Coaches are needed for the Senior and Age Group programs. Number of hours can be flexible, it could be anywhere from 6 to 16 hours per week of on-deck coaching, and the position could include coaching at meets on selected weekends. We are looking for enthusiastic individuals willing to fit into the CBST system while bringing their own ideas into the program. Hourly rate will be commensurate with experience. Delaware Swim Team (DST) is seeking an experienced coach to work primarily with our Junior National Group (9-14).  The Junior National Group is designed to offer swimmers ages 9 to 14 the highest level of instruction and training available to age group athletes. This group will emphasize a balanced approach to developing the Age Group swimmer for advancement towards DST’s National Group and competition at highest levels of the sport.

Lower Moreland Lightning –Age Group Coach – Part Time Coach (4/15/18)

The Lower Moreland Lightning (LMOR) is looking for a part-time, with the possibility for FT, assistant swim coach to start in  May and continue coaching through our year round program. LMOR is a USA Swimming Registered Swim Club consisting of approximately 200 swimmers of various levels and competes in both the Suburban Aquatic League (SAL) and USA Swimming.

Practices are held Monday – Friday evenings after 4:30 and Saturday mornings. Candidates should be available for most practices and some weekend meets. Hours are flexible depending on candidate’s availability. There is opportunity to work with different swimmer groups ages 5-18. In addition to a year round competitive swim team, Lower Moreland has a lesson program and master’s program which provides the opportunity for additional income and experience. Malvern Swim Association (MSA) – Part Time Assistant Coach 3/21/18

The Malvern Swimming Association (MSA) is looking for a part-time assistant swim coach to start in April or May and continue coaching through the spring/summer season. MSA is a USA Swimming Registered Swim Club and is a part of The Malvern Preparatory School which is located in Malvern, PA. Our team runs from September through July giving employees the opportunity to continue coaching almost year round.

Wissahickon Community Aquatic Club (WCAC) – Full-time Team Director/Head Coach 3/11/18

Wissahickon Community Aquatic Club (“WCAC”), a parent run swim and dive program, has just moved into a new state of the art natatorium complex at the Wissahickon High School in Ambler, PA.  The club is seeking an experienced, committed and motivated Head Coach who can identify goals and put in place plans to grow the various WCAC programs.  WCAC’s current membership is engaged in the community based swim and dive team, comprised of 200+ swimmers and divers.  The boys and girls teams participate in the Suburban Aquatic League during the winter.  The club is also a member of USA Swimming.  The USA Swimming program is a year round program that has grown each year.  The current US team is close to 50 members.

This position is a year round position, responsible for all levels of the WCAC aquatics program.  Planning, organization and communication skills will be key to the success of this Head Coach role.  More specific roles and responsibilities can be provided.

Interested applicants should be a USA certified coach with a minimum of 4 years coaching experience, ASCA level is a plus.  An understanding of pool/facilities operations, and experience with the Team Unify platform is preferred.

Compensation is negotiable, based upon experience.
